ȘONA

District/county (județ) : Alba

Stema Șona

Official blazon

Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on December 3, 2014.

The wavy bar represents the Târnava river.

The two hands clasping refer to the coexistence between Romanians and Saxons.

The fortress symbolizes the castle from Sânmiclăuș of the Bethlen family, a historical monument from the 17th century.

The mural crown with a crenellated tower means that the locality has the rank of commune.
