Stema Ghelința

Official blazon

Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on November 12, 2007.

The crown symbolizes Saint Emeric, representing the patron saint of the Roman Catholic church built in the 13th century, the monument being declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

The ax represents the symbol of Saint Ladislaus, which can be found on the frescoes in the church.

The three stars represent the three churches in the locality. The green field symbolizes the forest richness of the area.

The mural crown with a crenellated tower means that the locality has the rank of commune.
