District/county (județ) : Dolj

Stema Băilești

Official blazon

Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on September 27, 1999.

Saint George is the patron saint of the town. The sun, a symbol of fertility and light, transposes into the coat of arms the natural conditions in which the locality developed;

The wheat ears remind the basic activity of the inhabitants, the culture of cereals;

The the caduceus, an attribute of the god Mercury, evokes the commercial activity carried out by the locals over time;

The wavy bar alludes to the waters that make the area fertile and the wealth of fish.
