Origin/meaning

The oldest seal of the village shows an arrow point and dates from 1588. At the end of the 17th century Hozier shows arms with the two patron saints, Nazarius and Celsus of Milan and the arrow point in the base. These arms were in use until around 1965. At the same time, since around 1947 the municipality started to use simplified arms with the arrow point. Only after 1965 only these have been used.
