History: The Squadron was raised at Filton in April 1916.

On a terrestial globe azure/argent the figure of Perseus Or.

Origin/meaning

Perseus is symbolic of achieving the desired object with the available tools. The Globe symbolises World-Wide operations. The Squadron was also the first to use the Perseus Engines. The Motto translates as "Bravely into action". The badge was approved in December 1938.
