NO 93 SQUADRON, ROYAL AIR FORCE
History: The Squadron was formed at Chattis Hill, Hampshire in November 1917.
Official blazon
Badge: an escarbuncle argent and Or.
Motto: Ad arma parati.
Origin/meaning
An escarbuncle was a device used to strengthening shields. It symbolises the fact that the Squadron at one time was involved in experimenting with devices to strengthen defences. The Motto transaltes as "Ready for battle". The badge was granted in September 1942.
