VFA-195 DAMBUSTERS, US NAVY

History: Formed as Torpedo Squadron (VT) 19 on 15 August 1943. On 15 November 1946 the Squadron become Attack Squadron 20A (VA-20A) and in August 1948 VA-195. The Dambusters name was earned for destroying The Hwacheon Dam in North Korea on 1 May 1951. On 1 April 1985 the Squadron become VFA-195.

Homeport: MCAS Iwakuni, Japan.
