Origin/meaning
The arms were granted on September 29, 1969.
The municipality lies in the old mining region of Upper Styria. The arms depict a typically pear-shaped Bessemer converter and the alchemistic symbol for iron.
The old ironworks at Turrach was the first on the European continent to have a Bessemer converter.
