Origin/meaning

Ultramarine blue and Air Force yellow are the Air Force colors. Blue alludes to the sky, the primary theater of Air Force operations. Yellow refers to the sun and the excellence required of Air Force personnel. The broad sword is a symbol of strength, representing the fire power the unit brings to the battle field. An interlocking dovetail portrays the secure connection linking air and ground forces as one. Spreading wings depict air power, the primary weapon of the Squadron. The unit motto, “CONTROL CHAOS,” refers to the members’ ability to disregard distractions and navigate in the fog of war. The Squadron members must absorb overwhelming amounts of information to interpret, formulate and issue a clear and concise directive.
