Official blazon

Hopeakentässä lakio ja vinoristi, molemmat punaiset, lakiossa kaksi aurankärkeä ja niiden välissä kuusisakarainen tähti; kaikki hopeaa.

Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on August 8, 1952.

The arms are derived from one of Finland's oldest noble families, the Teit family. They had their estate in the area and played a major role in the local development. The arms differ from the family arms in that two stars were replaced by plough irons as a symbol for the agricultural character of the municipality.
