BARWANI

Arms (crest) of Barwani (State)

Official blazon

Vairy, three barrulets gules, a chief wavy argent on a canton of the second, a sun in splendour.
CREST: A demi-lion rampant gules.
SUPPORTERS: Chinkarra proper.
MOTTO: Lord of the road pass and mart.

Origin/meaning

The three barrulets indicate the road, pass and mart the principal sources of revenue. The vairy field represents the scrub jungle and the chief wavy the Nerbudda. The sculptured version of the Sun in splendour is shown as a free quarter.
