RIETHEIM

Canton : Aargau
Incorporated into : 2022 Zurzach

Wappen von Rietheim (Aargau)/Arms of Rietheim (Aargau)

Official blazon

In Blau gestürzte weisse Pflugschar.

Origin/meaning

The arms indicate the agricultural character of the region in the late 19th century, as the plough iron was introduced in the village seal in 1872.

In 1915 the Cantonal Archives proposed new arms for the village based on the former Lords of Rietheim. The reason was that the village arms had no character and were not representative. The council opposed those statements and did not agree with the new proposal.
