Origin/meaning

The arms were officially adopted on February 5, 2009.

The green symbolizes the rural situation of the village, "Condamine" ( Condemna in patois) was a land owned jointly by several owners.

The main figure of the shield is the Romanesque chapel, the oldest building in the village. It is surrounded by different agricultural crops: wheat amd corn, as well as a leafy acorn for the beautiful forest of oaks which formerly provided wood for making the salt of Montmorot.

The wavy bar symbolises the La Vallière river.

The chief emphasizes the border position of the town, located for centuries on the western borders of Franche-Comté: a milestone planted in 1613 once marked the separation between the French Duchy of Burgundy and the County of Burgundy (Franche-Comté), possession of the Spanish crown. This is symbolised by theFrench fleur-de-lis and the lion of the Franche Comté.
