Canton : Bern

Bonigen.jpg

Official blazon

Origin/meaning

The upper part of the arms shows the imperial eagle, which symbolises the fact that Bönigen was an imperial village before 1275. The lower part is the arms of Interlaken, the district to which the village belongs at present.

The arms were devised and adopted in 1922.
