KIRCHWEYHE

State : Niedersachsen
District (Kreis) : Diepholz (until 1979 Grafschaft Hoya)
Incorporated into : 1974 Weyhe

Wappen von Kirchweyhe/Arms (crest) of Kirchweyhe
Official blazon
German blazon wanted
English blazon wanted

Origin/meaning

The arms were granted in 1938.

The arms are derived from the arms of the Weye family, a noble family originating from Bremen. The family owned the village for a long time and played a mayor role in the local history. To distinguish the arms from those of the family, the number of bends was reduced to two.
