Origin/meaning
These arms have been officially granted on 10th December 1982.
The four bezants Or on Azure and the laurel branch are traditional elements on the arms of the town; the bezants are canting: they allude to the name of the town, meaning literally in Catalan "boundary stones, milestones". Térmens was conquered from the Muslims in the middle of the 12th century by Ermengol VI of Urgell, who transferred it to Ramon d'Anglesola; who in turn gave the town to the Hospitallers in 1278: the cross on the arms represents the Hospitaller command of Térmens, created in 1283.
