In Gold auf grünem Boden ein Wilder Mann mit Laubkrone und Laubschurz, in der linken Hand eine bewurzelte Fichte haltend.

Origin/meaning

The arms have been used since 1855.

The oldest seal of the town showed since the 16th century a walking man, holding a stick or crosier. The new arms were designed after the granting of the city rights by the Princes of Schwarzburg, whose arms showed two savages as supporters.
