SCHMIDTHACHENBACH
State : Rheinland-Pfalz
District (Kreis) : Birkenfeld
Verbandsgemeinde : Herrstein
German | In gespaltenem Schild vorne ein schwarzer Balken in Gold, begleitet oben von einem schwarzen Amboß, unten von einem grünen Eichblatt, hinten blau-golden geschacht. |

Origin/meaning
The arms were officially granted on August 26, 1963.
The upper right corner shows an anvil, which is a canting element (Schmiede/Schmidt = smithy), as well as a symbol for the history of the village. Schmidthachenbach was supposedly founded by 8 blacksmiths. The oak leaf stands for the nature surrounding the village. The left half shows the chequered field of the Counts of Sponheim, who ruled the area for many centuries.
