History: First foremd in 1943 at Royal Naval Air Station Yeovilton with Fairey Firefly aircraft for service on HMS Indefatigable. Disbanded in 1945.

Origin/meaning
The Firefly alludes to the Fairey Firefly aircraft flown by the Squadron. The Latin Motto translates as "To see is to conquer". The Badge was approved on 23 December 1943.
