SANT FELIU DE PALLEROLS

Region : Catalonia
Province : Girona

Escudo de Sant Feliu de Pallerols/Arms (crest) of Sant Feliu de Pallerols
Official blazon
Catalan Escut caironat truncat: 1r d'atzur, 3 estrelles d'argent malordenades; 2n d'or, 4 pals de gules. Per timbre, una corona mural de vila.'

Origin/meaning

These arms have been officially granted on 17th March 2000.

The three stars ("estels" in Catalan) are the traditional sign on the arms of the town, centre of the valley of Hostoles, and in some way they are canting, alluding to the name of the valley. The royal arms of Catalonia-Aragon (four pales Gules on Or) allude to the fact that, since the 17th century, the valley of Hostoles formed a royal council.
