Arms of Elliot Griffin Thomas

Official blazon

On the siniste; for Bishop Thomas; Gyronny of eight Or and Vert a cross moline fitchy quadrate Gules charged with a rose Argent.

Origin/meaning

As common in US episcopal heraldry, the arms show the arms of the diocese impaled with the personal arms of the bishop.

The green and golden colors of the shield symbolize the academic achievements and career of the bishop in fields of pharmacy, science and business. The division and colours also symbolise the diversity of the Caribbean Islands and the heritage of the bishop.

I have no further information on the other elements of the arms.
