Origin/meaning

The arms were granted December 20, 1985.

The flowers are a species of Veronica, which are localyy known as 'the blue eyes of Christ'. The flower is common in the whole of Norway, but grows abundantly in the area. Literature : Norwegian Municipal Network; Norske Kommunevåpen, Kommunalforlaget, 1987.
