VICARIATE OF TÁBOR

Diocese: České Budějovice
Denomination : Roman Catholic

Arms (crest) of Apostolic Vicariate of Tábor

Official blazon

No official blazon exists as of 2019.

Origin/meaning

The authors of the arms are Alois Sassmann and Václav Hes. The arms are split into two parts. The upper two fields are taken from the arms of the Diocese of České Budějovice while the lower field is a local reference representing the church of the Transfiguration of Jesus on Tábor Mountain. The mountain itself is represented by the mount in base. Above it is a chalice to represent the Hussite founders of the church. To the right are the Ten Commandments, to the left the Holy Scripture.
