Origin/meaning

The coconut and pineapple represent the city's two main export products. The three stars represent the three geographical islands of the Philippines.

The cornucopia signifies non-extravagance and thrift of its people; their foreparents used it as piggy banks.

Two Spanish Galleons signify that the city has engaged in trade even before the coming of the Spaniards to the country.
