4TH ROYAL IRISH DRAGOON GUARDS, BRITISH ARMY

History: Raised in 1685 as the 6th Horse or Earl of Arran's Cuirassiers, become in 1788 4th Royal Irish Regiment of Dragoon Guards. In 1922 amalgamated with the 7th Dragoon Guards (Princess Royal's) to form the 4th/7th Dragoon Guards. Which in 1936 become the 4th/7th Royal Dragoon Guards.
