Origin/meaning
The arms were granted on February 11, 2000.
The crossed keys in the upper half symbolise St. Peter, the patron of local church.
The three hazelnuts symbolize the different ethnic groups living together in harmony: traditionally Lithuanians, Poles and Tatars, in modern times also Belarussians and Russians.
