WORMELDANGE
Origin/meaning
The arms were granted on May 7, 1985.
Wormeldange was ruled through the centuries by a large number of lords. It was thus not possible to design arms based on the arms of (noble) families. The arms therefore indicate the importance of the viticulture for the municipality. The key is taken from the arms of the Prévosts of Grevenmacher, vassals of the Grand-Dukes of Luxembourg and overlords of the area. They used the lion of Luxembourg, holding a key in its paws.
