District : Zell am See

Wappen von Mittersill/Arms (crest) of Mittersill

Official blazon

Ein von Weiß und Rot geteilter Schild, in dessen oberer Hälfte eine schwarze Gämse aus der Teilungslinie wachsend hervorwächst.

Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on August 2, 1930.

The arms show a chamois rising from a red lower half. The arms are those of the Counts of Mittersill, who lived in the village as vassals of the Dukes of Bavaria until 1228, when the village became a possession of the Archbishops of Salzburg.
