Escudo español. De azur, un castillo atalayado de oro, mazonado de sable y aclarado de gules, terrazado sobre un monte de su color, del que surgen siete fuentes o arroyos de plata.

The castle is the local castle, the seven streams are the seven springs on the hill where the castle is situated. The springs are also canting, the historical name is Septi-fontes (seven springs in Latin). The composition already appeared on the seal of the city dating from 1299.
