Shoulder Sleeve Insignia. Description: On a Purple vertical rectangle arched convexly at top and bottom the overall dimensions are 3 1/2 inches (8.89 cm) in height and 2 1/2 inches (6.35 cm) in width, a lion passant Or. Arcing above the lion, the word “DAMIEN” in Yellow letters 5/16 inch (.79 cm) in height. Arcing below the lion, the word “MEMORIAL” in Yellow letters 5/16 inch (.79 cm) in height. All within a 1/8 inch (.32 cm) Yellow border.
Shoulder Loop Insignia. Description: A Gold color metal and enamel device 1 1/8 inches (2.86 cm) in height overall consisting of a shield blazoned: Purpure, a lion passant queue fourché Or. On a chief per pale of the field, a mullet of the second and a Celtic cross of the first, detailed and fimbriated Yellow. Beneath the shield, a Gold scroll turned Purple and inscribed “DAMIEN MEMORIAL” in Purple letters.
Origin/meaning
Shoulder Sleeve Insignia: Purple and yellow (gold) are the school colors. The lion is the school mascot and is a symbol of power, strength and determination.
Shoulder Loop Insignia: Purple and gold are the school colors. The lion is the school mascot and is a symbol of power, strength and determination.
The Shoulder Sleeve Insignia and the Shoulder Loop Insignia was both approved on 1 June 2001.
