1ST TRAIN REGIMENT SVEA TRAIN REGIMENT, SWEDISH ARMY

History: Raised in 1885 as the Trängbatlajonen (Train Battalion), renamed in 1891 to Svea trängbataljon, 1902 it become Första Svea trängkår and in 1904 Svea trängkår, in 1949 raised to a Regiment. In 1985 reduced to a Battalion within the Life Grenadiers Regiment. The Battalion was disbanded in 1997
Garrison : Stockholm (1885-1907), Örebro (1907-1927) and Linköping (1927-1997)

Swedish I rött fält Östergötlands vapenbild, en grip med drakvinge och draksvans av guld samt med blå draktunga och blå beväring.

Skölden lagd över ett kärrhjul med fyra ekrar och därunder två korslagda svärd, allt av silver

Origin/meaning

The Dragon-Griffin of Östergötland is used as Arms indicating the location of the Regiment to Linköping in Östergötland. Approved 1978.
