Arms (crest) of Babtai
Official blazon
Lithuanian blazon wanted
English blazon wanted

Origin/meaning

The arms were granted on May 23, 1994.

The arms were granted on January 11, 1792 by Stanislaus Augustus of Lithuania and Poland, at the same time as the city rights. The arms were abolished later the same year and restored with modifications in 1994.

The local parish church was devoted to St. Paul and St. Peter, and for these the tiara and keys of the Papal arms were chosen. The boat symbolises that the city was a merchant city.Literature:
