Kultaisen vyön jakama kilpi, jonka hopei­ sessa yläkentässä on seitsemän ylöspäin nouse­ vaa punaista tulenliekkiä ja punaisessa alakentäs­ sä kultainen lyhde.

Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on August 15, 1947.

The flames symbolize industry, especially the glassworks. The base shows three garbs, symbol for agriculture. The golden bar refers to the railway line, which played a major role in the development of the town.
