Origin/meaning
Eibiswald was granted on January 1, 2016 the right to continue the use of an already existing seal by Archduke Karl II on Sept. 6, 1579.
The main charge of the arms are three Eibenbäume (yew trees), canting arms. The original name of the borough, Ybanswalde, is quite remote from anything involving yews, as it is likely derived from a personal name (Iwans-forest ?)
