English | blazon wanted |
Origin/meaning
The arms were officially adopted on June 17, 2024.
The gray wolf mask evokes Saint Loup (loup=wolf), the patron saint of the parish. The trout represent the Meuse that crosses the village boundary.
The oak leaves illustrate Sauvigny from the Latin salvus: safe, out of danger, speaking of the protective role of the forest.
