1ST MAINTENANCE SQUADRON, US AIR FORCE

History:Designated as Maintenance Squadron, 1 Maintenance and Supply Group, on 28 July 1947. Organized on 15 Aug 1947. Discontinued on 24 Aug 1948. Consolidated (22 Oct 1984) with the 1 Maintenance Squadron, Fighter Jet, which was constituted on 15 Jun 1948. Activated on 22 Aug 1948. Redesignated as 1 Maintenance Squadron on 16 Apr 1950. Inactivated on 6 Feb 1952. Redesignated as 1 Field Maintenance Squadron on 20 Jun 1955. Activated on 18 Aug 1955. Discontinued, and inactivated, on 16 Jan 1967. Activated on 9 Sep 1968. Organized on 8 Oct 1968. Redesignated as:1 Equipment Maintenance Squadron on 15 Jun 1977; 1 Maintenance Squadron on 1 Oct 1991; 1 Equipment Maintenance Squadron on 1 Mar 1992; 1 Maintenance Squadron on 29 Oct 2010.
