Origin/meaning

The arms were devised in 1920 and show in the upper part the cross of the Knights of St. John. The village was a possession of the Knights until the Reformation in the 16^th century. The rose in the lower part is taken from the arms of the Von Fellenberg family, who had an estate in the municipality.
