English Black; a demi-lion rampant ersed gold holding in the paws a cresset gold inflamed proper.

Origin/meaning

Captured from the French in 1793 by Captain Reeve (Cresset) who was detached by Vice Admrial Gell (Lion). Ship renamed after capture. The Badge was approved in 1946.
