Escudo de Garriguella

Official blazon

Escut caironat: de sinople, un pal faixat d'or i de gules acompanyat d'una branca de garric de 3 fulles i 2 glans d'or a la destra i d'un raïm de porpra pampolat d'or a la sinistra. Per timbre una corona mural de poble.

Origin/meaning

The arms were granted on January 15, 1987.

Canting arms: they show a branch of "garric" (Catalan for "oak"). The pale with the golden and red bars are the arms of the counts of Empúries, the landlords of the village. The grapes are the main crop of Garriguella, destined to making a wine with denomination of origin and champagne.
