MIDTDJURS
Region : Midtjylland
Amt (until 2007) : Århus (until 1970 Randers)
Additions : 1970 Kolind-Ebdrup-Skarresø, Marie Magdalene-Koed, Nimtofte-Tøstrup, Nødager
Incorporated into : 2007 Syddjurs
Official blazon
Origin/meaning
The arms were officially registered in 1986.
The deer antlers are a canting symbol, Djursland, the region where the municipality is situated, means deer's-land. The reed symbolises the many waters (lakes, rivers, marshes) in the municipality. By placing the reeds between the antlers, the arms became canting (Midt means middle).
