RINGEBU

Province : Oppland

Arms of Ringebu

Official blazon

I rødt en oppvoksende tretunget gull flamme

Origin/meaning

The arms were granted in 1992.

Ringebu's coat of arms symbolize three flame tongues, which is based on the very old leidang warning system. Ringebu has two mountain cairn fires

The arms show three flames which represent the three valleys and three parishes of Ringebu, Fåvang, and Venabygd. Fire was chosen to represent mankind's need for heat and light.
