Département : Oise

Blason de Nogent-sur-Oise

Official blason

D'azur à la barre d'argent accompagnée en chef d'un chardon d'or et en pointe d'une fleur de lis du même.`

Origin/meaning

The silver bend refers to the Oise river. The thistle is the symbol of Scotland and refers to the local patron saint, St. Bridget (of Ireland... not Scotland). The fleur-de-lys is the French royal symbol and refers to the fact that King Saint Louis IX once passed through the village.
