SANKT MAREIN BEI KNITTELFELD
State : Steiermark
District : Knittelfeld
Origin/meaning :
The arms were granted on 17 Feb, 1975.
The arms contain references to the beautiful church dedicated to Our Lady, to a healing spring, called the Sauerbrunn Fentsch (jug) and to metal industry (ploughshare; the fir was the brand of a local manufacturer).
St. Marein is a dialect form of St. Maria.
