BROMBERG

State : Niederösterreich
District : Wiener Neustadt-Land

Bromberg.jpg

Origin/meaning :
The arms were granted on May 23, 1985.

The municipality was created in 1854 from Bromberg and Schlatten. Until 1974 the name was Schlatten. In 1985 the municipality was made a town and the arms were granted at the same day. The arms show the local church tower, a prominent landmark in the area. The wheat ear symbolises the agricultural character of the region. The wing is taken from the arms of the Reichersberg Abbey. The Bromberg parish was founded in 1144 by the Abbey and since 1160 the parish is owned by the Abbey.
