STEIN

State : Steiermark
District : Fürstenfeld

Stein.jpg

Origin/meaning :
The arms were granted on 12 July, 1976.

The arms contain allusions to local economy: The columns of basalt represent a large quarry in the municipality. In base (below the ground) one can find the beneficial mineral waters which are piped and bottled at Loipersdorf. Local folk has known the qualities of this mineral water for centuries. In the past, the water was kept in traditional jugs. One of these jugs was included into the arms.
