Region : Catalonia
Province : Lleida

Escudo de Golmés

Official blazon

Escut caironat: de sable, un món creuat d'or cintrat de gules acompanyat al cap d'una estrella d'or de 6 puntes. Per timbre una corona mural de poble.

Origin/meaning

The arms were granted on March 4, 1987.

The orb or mound royal is the attribute of St. Saviour, the local patron saint. The star above is a traditional sign of the village. The colours of the arms, black and gold, are derived from the arms of the Anglesola family, remembering that Golmés belonged to the barony of Bellpuig, ruled by the Anglesolas.
