Origin/meaning
The arms were officially granted in 1974.
The wheel is taken from the older arms of Ånge town (see below). The wheel indicates that the town is a railway junction.
The previous arms for the town were granted on January 30,l 1948.
The arms show a Staff of Mercury for the importance as a trading centre, and the winged wheels for the railroads.
