Official blazon

Origin/meaning

The arms show the cross of Hungary, indicating that the arms date from the late 13th century. The arms are first shown on a document from 1379. To distinguish the arms from the Hungarian cross, the two stars were added and the cross got roots. The meaning of these changes is not known.
