Origin/meaning

Silver gray and orinteal blue are the colours of military intelligence. The checkered arrangement reflects the the multifaceted intelligence and electronic warfare capabilities of the battalion. The Black center field suggests secrecy and symbolizes tactical operations security. The Sun and Moon symbols and two hemispheres denote rounde the clock tactical and global deployment capabilities. The red flash is a symbol of the offensive combat capability of electronic warfare as well as the long range electronic surveillance characteristics of the battalion.
