The Coat of Arms was approved for the 136th Quartermaster Battalion on 10 December 1996. It was redesignated effective 1 September 2008, for the 136th Support Battalion with symbolism revised. The Distinctive Unit Insignia was originally approved for the 136th Quartermaster Battalion on 14 January 1992. It was redesignated effective 1 September 2008, for the 136th Support Battalion with symbolism updated.

Shield: Buff, on a pale Celeste a double-warded key palewise wards to base Argent between in chief two buffalo heads addorsed of the like armedanf garnished of the field, overall a fountain at fess point.
Crest: That for regiments and separate battalions of the North Dakota Army National Guard; From a wreath of the colors Argent and Buff a sheaf of three arrows Argent armed and flighted Gules behind a string bow fesswise Or with grip of the second.
Motto: Strength, Spirit, Service.

Distinctive Unit Insignia, Description: A silver color metal and enamel device 1 1/8 inches (2.86 cm) in width overall, consisting of a disc wavy of six, blue and silver, upon an atique key, wards down, and on each side of the bow the head of a bison, all silver, facing to dexter and sinister, all above a buff motto scroll inscribed "STRENGTH SPIRIT SERVICE" in silver letters.
